General Product Information
How does the Pitch Pilot compare to other pitch-altering guitar accessories?
It should be noted for non-guitarists that typical “tremelo-bar” or “vibrato-arm” or “whammy-bar” are all used to describe systems that lower and/or raise the pitch of all of the strings at once and when it is used, the guitar is in fact, going in and out of tune with the rest of the music to create a choral effect.
The sound created by Pitch Pilot is the sound of only 1 string changing pitch. Not only does it make a similar chorus effect within the guitar itself when used lightly, the interaction of the changing string and the strings beside it played together creates a myriad of interesting harmonies and overtones.
How do I install the Pitch Pilot on my guitar?
Installing the Pitch Pilot is easy! The Pitch Pilot package includes a set of thorough installation instructions, as well as all of the necessary screws and fasteners specific to installation on your guitar. To view the installation instructions online, click here.
Is the Pitch Pilot compatible with my guitar?
The Pitch Pilot is compatible with most Gibson models, as well as the Fender “Telecaster” and “Stratocaster” models. In each case, adapters are provided for off-brands. Pitch Pilot Music Products Inc. cannot guarantee the compatibility of the Pitch Pilot on modified or non-standard guitars.
How exactly do I use the Pitch Pilot?
Pitch Pilot is activated by the palm or fingers of the guitarist picking hand and is capable of making very delicate expressions and quivering-type sounds (16th to 32nd notes) as well as deep swooping dives and soaring effects like ones guitarists perform on “whammy” bars.
With practice, actual melodies can be expressed just using the wide range of Pitch Pilot. Even a person who is just learning, or someone who is not even able to play the guitar, will instantly be able to create interesting sounds with Pitch Pilot, just by “wiggling the handle”.
Does the Pitch Pilot affect the pitch of my whole guitar at once?
No. The function of the Pitch Pilot device is to affect the pitch of an individual guitar string. The Pitch Pilot bridge can be installed for the string(s) of the guitar players’ choosing.
